The writing style is a bit like a textbook. Still, great examples best in a scientific book I’ve read in a long time and a fascinating topic.
Those of you with internal clocks shorter than 24 hours need to constantly expand time, which ends up making you into early chronotypes or “larks”. I would have preferred a book aimed at helping a person identify what chronotype they are and how to manage that.
Also, per the author, we should all get outside more into the natural light, eat better and add more motion to our lives. We learn why the constant twilight of our roennebegr indoor lives makes us dependent on alarm clocks and tired, and why social demands and work schedules lead to a social jet lag that compromises our daily functioning.
But who will ever take the time to evaluate the way external time unfairly governs a sea of individuals, each with a specifically, and differently, tuned internal clock? Roenneberg released a book inteernal March titled Internal Time: Aug 29, Clark Hays rated it really liked it.

Reading turns tiresome since the pace never picks up. So I started it with big hopes, but around halfway in, I started to lose my enthusiasm. I was a little disappointed with this book in that it had such potential.
These two we share with houseplants and virtually every other living being. Speaking of traditional jet lag, east to west travel is easier to adjust to for everyone except extremely early integnal.
Masking has significant implications not only for future studies — which must attempt to demask affected data — but also in relation to entrainment in everyday life.
This so-called “chronotype” is largely regulated by the circadian clock.
Our results strongly suggest that work and school schedules should be adapted to chronotype whenever possible. I won’t rattle off statistics, but the book gave me the impression that I’m an extreme late chronotype. You get the science and then you’re on your own. The light receptors aren’t the rods or cones, but a third type of photoreceptor called melanopsin.

Overall I liked the format of introducing each chapter with a roenenberg situation that he then explained with his research but at times I did wish that would hurry up and make his point as I found myself getting lost in roenneeberg detail – someone more used to reading academic writing would likely find this less of an issue than I did.
